Marek (supervisor): You there? Listen to me very carefully. Don't take the stairs. The stairs are gone. They've been gone since the renovation in '94 that never happened.
Marek: The elevator is the only way up. But this building... it lies. Every floor is a copy of the seventh floor. Sometimes the copy is wrong. Something gets into it and changes things.
Marek: The elevator knows when you lie to it. So tell it the truth:
▲ UP — the floor is NORMAL, nothing changed.
▼ DOWN — you saw an ANOMALY. Anything. A sound. A shadow. A chair that moved an inch.
Answer correctly and it carries you one floor up. Answer wrong... it opens the doors for it instead.
Marek: Floor 1 is always clean — memorize every detail of it. The exit is on floor 8. The roof. That's where they pulled me out.
Marek: Use your flashlight (F). Walk the whole corridor (W A S D). Look at everything. Then press a button in the elevator (E).
Marek: And kid... if the lights go out completely, it's already too late. Don't scream. It likes that.
